Pairings that Take Your Cheese Game to the Next Level

Sure, cheese is delightful on its own, but paired right, it becomes a culinary masterpiece…

The right pairing introduces layers of flavour, texture, and contrast you never knew existed – or needed. (Looking at you, goat cheese and Turkish Delight!)

With years of ‘cheese expertise’, including supporting Emirates with our renowned cheese hospitality service at global events, we’ve mastered the art of pairings. Ready to take your cheese experience to the next level? Here’s how to pair like a pro.

Crackers and Bread
Cheese’s trusty sidekick and a classic accompaniment for all things fromage, crackers and bread provide a textural contrast that allows each cheese’s unique flavour to shine. Try pairing the Rosemary and Sea Salt crackers with a vintage Cheddar or Red Fox to enhance their savoury notes and opt for sourdough for creamier varieties such as camembert.

Fruit and Preserves
Sweet pairings such as cherry compote, quince or honey are a match made in cheese heaven and add depth to the cheese experience. Pair stronger cheeses, such as the Red Fox, with the cherry compote or blackberries to balance the saltiness. Alternatively, drizzle honey on the Colston Bassett or Ossau Iraty for a sweet yet savoury treat. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can introduce dark chocolate with some of the stronger cheeses for a real ‘wow’ effect.

Nuts and Charcuterie
For a truly deluxe experience, consider adding nuts and a variety of charcuterie to your cheeseboard. Almonds, walnuts and cured meats add both texture and mouthfeel, making them perfect companions for harder cheeses such as Cinco Lanzas or Gouda. Plus, it adds that sophisticated “I know my cheese” touch to impress your dinner guests.

While these pairings are a great starting point, don’t be afraid to experiment – after all, it’s all about what you enjoy. So, grab your favourite cheese and pair it with whatever you fancy – who knows where it may take you!
